| OK, nobody has goals. I'm shooting for 1400. Maybe. It's conceivable if I have a great meet. I think I need something like this for it:
518-lb. squat, 309-lb. bench press, 573-lb. deadlift.
I can probably hit the bench press and deadlift at the meet, but the squat is a big question mark. It comes down to how much I get out of Smolov.

My goal for the meet is to break 1000, but get 1020+ if I can. This shouldnt be too bad since I'd roughly need 340 squat, 260 bench, and 400 deadlift just to hit 1000. Ive never pulled 400 before, or even tried to hit a 1 rep pr, but my 'projected max' currently says 405. 340 squat seems doable, and I can definitely get more than 260 on bench.

| Out-lift Anderson I honestly have no idea how my current training will affect my squat so I may just open around 405-420 and assess my second attempt from there. I hit 250 for a double on bench and 260 for a single on floor press before I backed off on the intensity and switched to volume. Maybe 275 isn't out of the question if I can peak at the right time. Deadlift will be about trying to recapture the magic of my 550 pull. | |

I did 501 at my last meet in October and 510 in training more recently. But it's really, really hard to hit everything you're capable of hitting in one single meet. I've done better recently, but I'm always going to leave something on the platform.

Deadlift will be about trying to recapture the magic of my 550 pull. Just do more higher-intensity benching for a period before the meet and you'll get there. Now's probably a good time to start cutting out pressing variations and spending more time on the bench. And the deadlift should be there if you hold up through the meet, right? 475-275-550 gives you 1300. No pressure, just sayin'--it's a possibility if you train your bench and squat like crazy leading up.

| I don't really know what to expect since I haven't done any really heavy, high intensity lifts in a long time. I guess I'll get a better idea of what I'm capable of near the end of this 5 rep wave I've got coming up. The dream would be to squat 375, bench 250, and deadlift 475 for an 1100 total at 181. My squat is probably there or will be there, but I don't know about a paused bench. And just based on projections my deadlift is probably 25 or 30 pounds off of that mark right now. I have no idea really, it's all speculative. Maybe I can make up some of that deadlift weight with a really great squat, or something. | |
