Yes--that will help me a lot, mate. And we can give you feedback as you're getting into the thick of your meet prep. We want to see you hit another PR total at this one. I will give you a hug if you do it.

Squat

1x 365
1x 385
7x 405 (20/25 lb PR)
1x 405
1x 405

Did not feel the best going in to squat today. Back felt a little sore and kind of had a headache/felt a little loopy but i got after it. The 405-AMRAP i wanted 5 and i was not going to stop until i did (Andy G wanted me to get 6 because of his set yesterday). The 3rd rep was a little ugly mostly because i got a little loose and misgrooved which really pissed me off. It pissed me off so much i really focused and got after it. The rest moved slow but well with the 7th being a little bit of a grind but not too bad. Checked the video and all were to parallel

Bench Press

5x4x 235

DB Shoulder Press

Since i am currently in omaha, i gave the owner of Big Iron Gym a call and stopped by. Got to use an SPF competition bench which felt like heaven during the set up AND they had a bulldog bench bar but i digress. Reps moved well except for the last 1 of each set; just ran out of gas mostly. The ladies and gents of big iron provided a fantastic atmostphere for lifting and i thank them for that.

However this leaves me with a difficult decision: big iron is closed on tuesday so i cannot deadlift tonight however they deadlift wednesday evenings. So i can deadlift in big iron tomorrow and possibly squat at 22nd street on thursday. Otherwise i can do some recon at a crossfit box which has give. Me access to a deadlift bar and squat at big iron on wednesday.

Captains log hour 1, location in a box somewhere in omaha

The crossfitters have started their "wod" but technically it is an "open gym" so there is confusion. Music seems to be the latest pop music which prevents me from moving large quantities of bumper plates. Captain out

Make sure you take your shirt off to blend in with the crowd. I would be weary of putting more than 300 pounds on the bar. They might take that as an attack on their territory, and you'll have to get into a kipping pullup contest with their leader.

I loaded the stiff bar with 395 and they were 'mirin. I did, however, take off my shirt

Scoping out the competition, I see.

Despite your use of cheater-wraps, you two might be in for a neck-and-neck total battle.

Deadlift

5x 350
2x4x 375
4x 395

3x8x 300 w/ 3 minutes rest

Stepped into a box for the first time today and had an unexpected experience. Most shocking was how accepting they were of me being a powerlifter and ultimately wanting become stronger by picking heavy s*** up. Second, on my 395-set, i had 2-3 supporters kind of cheering/encouraging me which is always great. Last, not once did they step on my platform; they came close but part of that was because of me being near a door so no biggy. In short, not what i expected and im glad i got the chance to meet some good people.

Anyways, had to go to a box because big iron was closed today and i had to use a stiff bar with bumpers. The weights felt a little light but i had to trust the weights were accurately measured and go with it. All of the sets felt easy and the weight was blowing up. I will have to make sure i am not getting in front of the bar because i did notice that a couple of times. Otherwise all went well and moved quickly.

Yes seth i will be competing on sunday. Pretty excited to see some familiar faces from iPl, team lilliebridge, and big iron and catch up with them. Are you training with wraps now? Last i remember, you were using sleeves

Skwat

1x 365
1x 385
1x 405
1x 420

Made it out to big iron again today and was able to squat while they deadlifted. The first couple of work sets were meh but they decent. I havnt squatted above 420 since february so i really wanted to give it a proper welcome back gift. Nonetheless, i absolutely smoked it and all of the gear heads were 'mirin. Most of big iron will be at the dubuque and the state fair push pull so i look forward to seeing them again

Are you just really good at rep work? When I hit 405x7 in wraps back before I left for Basic, I crushed 500 the very next week. If your rep work is indicative of your top-end strength, 440 should be more of an opener, honestly.

Im not totally certain at this point. This is the heaviest ive had in a while and ive been crushing my AMRAP sets. i definitely know i had another 1-2 reps left when i finished.

Deadlift

3x 375
2x2 400
2x 425

Deadlift moved well and fast this day

Skwat

4x 330
4x 350
3x4 370

Skwats were okay. A little slow but i felt pretty stiff and sore

Bench

3x 260
2x1 270

Did not feel well this day; stomach made me feel a little queasy. Plus the low back and hips were not having it either. I was supposed to do 1x 280 but the 270-singles were so bad, slow, and misgrooved that i called it a day.

Skwat

2x 350
2x 370
6x 390

Wanted a minimum of 6 for 390 and was hoping for more. Still hit my base goal so i walked away satisfied. Just not there this morning. I have a rest day on thursday which should help before the last heavy skwat next sunday
