Here's what I was thinking of as a possible example:
Name: Kyle Keough Age: 26 Weight Class: 148 lbs. Best Lifts: 473 squat, 315 bench press, and 568 deadlift.
I got started training in the sport of powerlifting when I was 21, and my first meet was the 2009 New England Raw Powerlifting Championships; there, I 'bombed out' (a term that refers to the disqualification a lifter receives for failing to successfully complete a lift). So, I know what it's like to start from the bottom--I didn't even have a total to show for my first meet.
I came back after not competing for a year and a half and totaled 1229 lbs. at NASA Iowa Regionals at a bodyweight of 159 to first be nationally ranked (#42) in the 165-lb. weight class. I then moved down to 148 lbs. in the spring for NASA Iowa States, and I totaled 1201 lbs. to reach a #8 ranking in the 148-lb. weight class. I have now competed five times (six, if you count my first meet) at 148 lbs., and have totaled Elite all five times. Currently, I am the #2-ranked squatter, #3-ranked deadlifter, #22-ranked bench presser, and #4-ranked overall lifter in the 148-lb. weight class. I also own the NASA American record for the squat (473), deadlift (568), and total (1328), all set in my last meet while weighing 146.5 lbs. This was my best total to date and my first nine times' bodyweight total.
Now, I want to someday squat over 500 lbs. and total over 1400 lbs. in a meet as a 148-lb. lifter.
I'm also the President of University of Iowa Powerlifting, a club I founded with a friend, Logan Joseph, over the summer of 2011, and I'm proud to be a part of a good team of always-improving lifters. I've had the good fortune of learning a lot about my training from others lifters on our team, and that's really helped improve my training and, as a consequence, my strength.
Too self-indulgent? Should we talk about training more? Should this be less formal than simply a listing of credits and accolades? Should everyone just do their own thing with these?

What all are we wanting to put in these bios? Also, how often are we going to be putting new content up as far as training articles and such?

I think just posting one new article per week would be a good start. Now that we've got a website, we can start putting up content. Anyone want to volunteer to go first?

I think it would be cool to do something similar to the University of Illinois member bios, they include stuff like hometown, major, hobbies & interests (besides powerlifting) and lifting background. They also have a best competition lifts as well as best gym lifts section. Here is a link to their member page https://sites.google.com/a/illinipowerlifting.org/illini-powerliting/members

Yes I think that the lifting is important, but also try to provide something non powerlifting related. We could start with something a bit more formal to start with like keough's page and add some fun stuff later on. If we can get some sort of template going that would be great I think. I can also update these to include videos and articles you have created

I like how Illinois does it. Also, our team is better than theirs.

Just threw this together for a basic template.. good/bad? other ideas?
Name: Age: Year at Iowa: Weight Class (along with current ranking if ranked): Best Lifts (gym and meet along with meet total, also noting meet lifts that are records): Favorite Lift: Athletic/Lifting history (whats your past? what got you started into powerlifting?): Hobbies outside of lifting:
On a side note you guys may have seen that I'm starting smolov jr for bench on sunday, and as far as putting content up I would be willing to write an overview of it and tell what I thought about it when I finish the cycle. Just an idea.

That looks good, Seth. If we wanted to, we could set up a template with a list of past meet results, a la the Illinois example. As per that setup, here's what mine would look like:
Name: Kyle Keough Age: 26 Year at Iowa: Fifth-year Ph.D student Weight class: 148 lbs. Best gym lifts: 465-lb. squat, 315-lb. bench press, 560-lb. deadlift Best meet lifts: 473-lb. squat, 292-lb. bench press, 568-lb. deadlift, 1328 total Favorite lift: Deficit deadlifts Athletic/lifting history: In high school, I competed as a 112-, 119-, and 125-pounder in wrestling and a goalie in lacrosse. After high school, I first got involved in weight training at the age of 19, and at around 21, I was introduced to the sport of powerlifting and started squatting, bench pressing, and deadlifting. When I was 22, I competed in my first powerlifting meet, and I've been competing pretty regularly since then, mostly as a 148-pounder. Hobbies outside of living: I only have room in life for one real hobby, and that's powerlifting.
Year -- Meet -- Weight Class -- Squat -- Bench Press -- Deadlift -- Total -- Awards -- Records -- Rankings

Here's my bio. Yep.
Name: Janis Finkelman Age: 26 Year at Iowa: 3rd year MFA student Weight class: 114 lb Best gym lifts: 125 lb bench press, 180 lb squat, 240 deadlift Best meet lifts: 171 squat, 116 bench press, 254 deadliest, 541 total Favorite lift: weighted pull-ups Athletic/lifting history: One mediocre-to-pathetic semester participating in track/pole vault in my junior year of high school. I was heavily involved in various types of horseback riding from age eight to age twenty-one. I started running recreationally around the time I did my one semester of track in high school and that carried on for a good five or six years. At the end of undergrad, I started to get into lifting. By working with various people who knew a lot more about lifting than I did and doing a LOT of research on my own, I gradually increased my strength. I started training for powerlifting in April of 2012 and my strength grew to levels I didn't know were possible. I continue to surprise myself in training and have realized that I can do "ten times what I think and can and one hundred times what my mother thinks I can." Hobbies outside of lifting: Art and powerlifting act as counterbalancing forces in my life. I'm pursuing an MFA at the university in painting and drawing and spend a fair amount of time making art when I'm not spending it focusing on my training.
results/rankings: 2012, NASA Grand Nationals, 114 lbs, 171 squat, 116 bench press, 254 deadliest, 541 total #17 in US at 114 lbs

I continue to be disappointed in the IAHSAA for banning high school pole vault just because that one kid died that one time.

Best Lifts: Gym: Squat-335 Bench-255 Deadlift-480 Meet: Squat-331 Bench-242 Deadlift-480
Favorite Lift: Deadlifts
Athletic/Lifting history: 4 years of football and baseball in high school. I was a first team all-state catcher my senior year, and went on to play a year of college ball in St Louis before I transferred to Iowa. I've always had a passion for lifting, but not the big 3 so much until I became part of the powerlifting team in the spring of 2012. I was sick of lifting without a purpose and needed a reason to push myself and something be competitive in, and powerlifting fits that spot perfectly.
Hobbies outside of lifting: Eating. Oh and long walks on the beach while the sun sets.

Athletic/Lifting history: I played tennis all four years of high school (3 years on varsity) as well as basketball through my church league. I started powerlifting my freshman year of college when I was introduced to the sport by Kevin Alvarez. When I first started out, I benched 135, squatted 185, and deadlifted 275. It has been amazing to see the increase in strength one can achieve with the proper programming, mindset, and dedication to the sport.

Athletic/Lifting history: Four years of football, three years of wrestling, two years of baseball, two years of track in high school. I first started lifting weights regularly in 7th grade, and training for strength the summer before my junior year of high school. My high school principal my senior year was a former powerlifter, and he started a powerlifting team, which I was a part of. At my first meet, I witnessed some pretty great lifters, and I also met Kyle before I came to Iowa. I love competing, and this gives me a way to continue to do so despite not being in high school sports anymore.
Hobbies outside of lifting: I recently joined the Iowa Army National Guard and enjoy daydreaming about being deployed to the 'Stan.
