Yeah. As long as I bench properly, my shoulder *should* be OK, and paused bench pressing is better for it than touch-and-go. I won't do longer pauses on any session besides Monday, but I will be pausing my reps.

The amount of homeless in that video is astounding. I don't even want to watch it, as I'm fairly certain I would just magically lose all my assets, maybe to the IRS Ninjas or something.

Thanks. Girlfriend doesn't care, so neither do I. It will continue until she complains.

(Picked these up from a recent Mark Bell video. The modification worked amazingly well. The effect of horizontal accommodating resistance really seemed to improve the exercise; I was reminded of Chris Duffin's "stallion" variation to the kneeling squat as another instance in which horizontal accommodating resistance helps improve a compound accessory movement.)
Leg Curls BWx200
Bat Hangs, two rounds, 3ish min total.

I'm well aware. It's one reason why he's squatted 530 in the SPF but has missed 446 at RUM. Great lifter, but someone close to him needs to tell him he needs to at least try to train to depth.

Wow, really high. I think you need to be the one to tell him...the same way you told George his ass belonged to you. Joe Morrow and the Jung Dawg enter, the Jung Dawg leaves.

lol, it's certainly not my place, and he at least competes in some legitimate meets (like RUM) with high standards.
That said, I'm training constantly and getting stronger all the time, even if some of these other 148s don't know I exist. I have everybody's numbers etched in my brain. Just give it a few years...

We will all miss me.
Real talk though, I found out today that I might be allowed to use my phone during reception (the period in between arriving to the base, and actually getting to real Basic Training, during which we do a ton of medical stuff, get gear issued to us, etc) during free time at night. A girl (heavenly blessed beauty of my dreams, with 4.0 GPA, I might add) I know texted me tonight while she was in reception, albeit at a different base.
So, there is a chance I will be able to post for up to a week before it is srs bizness time.

People were so jelly of those pulls. Your speed off the floor might not have looked as good as it as, but I think your lockouts looked significantly smoother.

I'm working really hard on it. I figured hammering it with volume might just improve it enough to get me over the hump, and so far my lockout at the top feels smooth, without the same rate of slowdown as I've experienced in the past. My approach to fixing it is a combination of a movement-based volume approach (just deadlifting a lot, at fixed intervals, accumulating fatigue and inducing lots of reps with slowed-down lockouts that have to be overcome) and a muscle-based strength/hypertrophy approach (glute day). I won't know until April if it's working, but I'd consider pulling 580+ to be a big success.
Now, the issue is never going to truly be fixed until I address the parts of my setup that are putting me in awful position for my lockout, but it's my belief that my current setup gives me my best chance at a max pull right now, so I'm sticking with it rather than overhauling it.
I just want to pull 600 lbs. someday. When is it my turn?
