10/20/13 Meeting Notes

1. We talked about the results of the USAPL meet on 10/12
-Nathan Poage, Alex DiRienzo, and Zach Berger all compted
-Our lifters went a combined 27/29
-Nathan Poage totaled 1307, a total qualifying him for RUM 7
-Alex DiRienzo totaled 1152
-Zach Berger totaled 1090
-Outstanding meet by all of our lifters, great way to start the year

2. We then spoke about proposed changes to our constitution
-51% of club members must be UI students
-Individuals not affiliated with the University of Iowa may be members
-All members must pay the sports club membership fee
-Looking into an amendment requiring 33% members must be present to hold a vote

3. We spoke about informal officer positions
-Presidential Advisor--Kyle Keough
-Recruiting Coordinator--Chris Coffman
-Publicity Representative--Matt Moore
-Basically, we all need to pitch in and help

4. Upcoming meets
-NASA Iowa Regionals--10/26
-UPA Power Weekend--11/16-17--Filling up fast, get entries in now if wanting to
compete

5. We need to work on member retention
-Hold all members accountable to show up and be active
-Propose ways to do this at the next meeting
