Bench is only a real lift in the gym. It is pretend in competition

Relatively disappointing day overall, this was only 5 lbs better than in November. Did really well with my attempt selection, leaving only a maximum of 20 lbs on the platform. Had a great bench training cycle leading into it but jacked it up with poor decisions. For perspective, when I did 374 in a meet I did 300x8 a few weeks prior. The training cycle leading into this I did 345x8 (almost 9) and only came away with 1 more lb. I think it's critical that I find a reliable spotter to train with moving forward
