October 7th Meeting Minutes

1. Old business addressed: Nate and Seth are on track to continue to pursue contact with those in charge of the intramural bench press competition.

2. Frank updated the club on its budget standings. The club will be getting $450. All waivers on Orgsync must be signed in order to reciee this money.

2a) Kyle announced that we have opted not to use a university vehicle (or vehicles) to travel to the October meet as it would take up a considerable amount of our allotted budge to do so.

2b) Kyle led discussion of how we might choose to spend this money and asked club members for ideas additional to his own. Kyle outlined what the club is and is not allowed to use budget funds for. Travel costs, entry fees and similar expenses can be payed for with budget funds; items that fall into the category of personal property such as T-shirts cannot be funded from our budget.

2c) Frank noted that he has made contact with/is waiting to hear back from three different sponsorship opportunities.

3. Continuing discussion of T-shirts: Kevin suggested that T-shirt money could come out of entry fees. Other options included instating a membership fee to help cover T-shirt costs.

3a) Chris and Kyle want to generate guidelines regarding who is eligible to get a club shirt. Chris suggested that those who compete in a meet should be eligible.

3b) Other eligibility criteria might include/be a combination of meeting attendance and/or Sunday Training session attendance, although some members cannot commit any time to the club on Sunday but are still active and therefore should also have an opportunity to qualify for receiving a shirt. Anyone (member of the club or not) is able to purchase a shirt.

3c) Kyle said that the idea of shirts being earned based on performance/improvement/totaling elite was also a possibility. Kyle requested that these ideas and any others be revisited and decided upon at the next meeting (October 20)

4. NASA Gold Cards: if NASA is open to applying a Gold Card to teams competing at meets, this could create a potential discount on entry fees for our team. Kyle offered to contact Rich Peters about working something out.

5. Continuing issue of space for equipment: Kyle said that it may be time to request space from the CRWC for storage again.

6. Meeting dismissed for those who are not attending the NASA Regionals on the 27th. Roll call for those planning to attend taken, and informal/tentative travel groupings set up as follows:

Brian, Austin, and Miguel are potentially just attending on Saturday, a ride situation including all three may be possible.
