Would you be interested in competing in the intramural meet February 27th? I think it would be great for you to have an event to train for and it would be an easy way to see what a meat might be like.

Hey Nel I know you are planning to enter the intramural meet. Just a tip really focus on sinking your squats, don't be afraid to drop into the hole. It looks like a lot of your reps are cutting it close. Like I said just something to be aware. It seems like you've made awesome progress man keep up the good work!

Thanks, man! Yeah, I think it is precisely that I'm afraid. I worked my way up to that set and I had people checked my depth on each one and it was good but once I get to my "heavy" set I think I get a bit scared but I'll work on it. And again, thanks!

It's really just a matter of making yourself hit depth. I know your mobility is good enough, and those reps are fast enough that it's not like you're going to get stuck if you go an inch deeper. Just get that pattern in your head on every rep and you'll be fine.

Squats
1x5 275lbs
1x5 270lbs
3x5 265lbs

I noticed that I wasn't hitting my depth so I kept lowering the load. I think I did a better job this time. I think what is happening is that once it gets heavy I shift my body a bit forward, balancing on the balls of the feet. I think all but the first one were good. what do y'all think?

Overhead Press 5x5 125lbs

Deadlifts 1x5 335lbs

Abs 4x20

Squats 5x5 215lbs

I tried a low bar position today, it was really uncomfortable at first but by the end I was kind of used to it. My wrist hurt a bit though. But I think I can prevent by using my wrist wraps. The low bar position made it easier for me to dig deeper.

Bench press 3x5 185lbs

Chin ups 3x10

Back extensions 1x10, 4x10 with 25lbs

Squats 5x5 275lbs

Bench press 1x5 210lbs, 4x5 205lbs

Deadlift 1x3 345lbs I couldn't finish my 5 reps because one of my calluses started ripping and it hurt like a mofo. This and the fact that I dropped the bar while trying to rerack after squatting my first set makes me the MVP of the day for Team Awful.

Do you do anything with your callouses to keep them from ripping? Miring your progress/gains

Thanks Will. I usually take good care of them but thinking back now I don't think I did anything with them last week. But this is good. I won't forget from now on.

Just some advice for what it is worth: i use a wet pumice stone to grind down some calluses every couple of weeks. Doesnt need much but it feels good afterwards

Squats 5x5 280lbs

Overhead press 1x3 140lbs, 4x5 130lbs

Deadlift 1x1 345lbs, 1x1 365lbs, 1x1 390lbs (up until here it felt relative easy except for the fact that my hand hurt from last week) 1x1 405lbs PR!!!

My hand hasn't properly heal so the bar was slipping away. That's why I tried to hurry to lock it and as soon as I did, I dropped it. I also want to work my glutes a bit more because I feel like Im fast off the ground but taking longer locking it. I'm going to go down and work more on my form since I also notice that I raise my hips a lot before I start pulling when it gets heavy.
