| Week 2 Squat-- 215x4x10
Good mornings 95x3x10
Added a lift!
So this week I'll go ahead an add a second lift to my training. Start with something very easy for a set of 10 and add weight every week maintaining 2-3 sets of ten.
Next week I'll add some supplemental work.

I wouldn't say I enjoy the process of doing 10 rep sets much. This is probably the most difficult training has been in a long time just as far as getting myself under the bar for another set. The sets aren't challenging in a "I might fail way" more just a very exhausting and I have to fight hard to maintain technical integrity. Squats by far have been the worst for this. But this is good, and it will build up some work capacity. Considering I haven't done a set of 5+ in basically a year (other than deadlift AMRAPs several months ago) and those sets of 5 were only done once every 3 weeks I'm happy I'm making it through this block. Also training without getting real hyped is lame. The fact that it is a training block helps the mind cope though. Just one more week after this of 10s, then 8s. A couple weeks of 8s and then 5s.

Also training without getting real hyped is lame. I know everyone is different on this front, but something that has worked well for me is to try and subdue this for periods of time as I'm "accumulating" quality work. Once it comes time to "realize" that work (and I might not do this through strict, sectioned-off blocks), then I increase my emotional investment in the training. But by that point, breaking PRs (hopefully) becomes a formality, and I can break a string of them in succession before returning to the prior phase of training. In other words, I guess what I'm trying to say is, try to think about how you program your emotional approach to training, too. "Always hyped" works for almost no one, unless you're on 3g of test or something. "Sometimes hyped" works for almost everyone, but it's programmed differently by different people. If you at least have different alternating phases of training (hyped/not hyped), then you won't run the risk of burn-out, and the big sessions will matter "more" because you'll have to wait for them.
