| I have been a little lazy over the past week. I know you're all so disappointed.
1/5
Bench 210x5 255x3 295x2 315x1 340x8 (failed 9th)
Did some chain work. Going to do much more of it going forward.
1/6
Squat 225x5 270x3 315x2 340x1 360x10
Extensions, curls, reverse hyper
pull ups
Notes: I was able to get all the reps for bench for the 8's phase. Wasn't able to increase the training max any, but I'm happy to be hitting the reps. Squat went very well. Was able to get 10 reps with 360. 8 was the goal, so I am upping the training max there.
Future bench gainz: I was talked into going in to magni both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I did some safety bar squats, and Sunday I had nothing to do except roll out and stretch. Sunday I met Tom Waldrep, and had the pleasure of listening to him talk some about the greatest topic in the sport: Bench. He looked at my set up and had a few pointers to give me and gave me some ideas about how to get through my stupid sticking point. He offered to work with me on improving my leg drive and lock out strength. He comes in with his son on Sunday mornings, so it looks like I'll be attending the church of Magni on Sundays now.

| Do you finally like squatting more than benching yet? | |

OHP 220x8
1/8
Deadlift 440x8
Notes: Wasn't able to up the training max on deads again this phase. Not too worried about it. Looking forward to what I have coming up in the 5's phase I see good numbers and some potential PR's without upping 3 of the 4 training maxes. I see solid improvement everywhere, and a very doable 1500+ total in March. Progress is progress, no matter how slow.

Bench Warmups 365x3 385x3 (ties PR) 405x2 (ties PR) 315x10 2x10 @ 275 to a 3 board
band push downs
Notes: Decided to give my bench a little check up to see where it is. 385x3 wasn't terribly hard, and neither was 405x2. The last time i did those weights for that many reps it was a struggle. There may have been another rep there for both of them if done alone. Locking out the 10th rep of 315 was one of the hardest things i've ever had to do. Which is fucking stupid. I'm going to really try to focus in on fixing this problem of locking out in the coming weeks. Really sick of getting blue balled on my bench.

Safety Bar double paused squats 2x5 @245 2x5 @295 1x5 @335
Reverse hyper
Much visiting with Tom Waldrep about everything bench press, and how I can fix my problems. Not only do I love talking about benching, but it seems to make squatting more fun.
Notes: I apparently train on the weekends now.

TNG Bench 6x5 @ 295 (10 on last set, last 5 paused)
Bench with about 80 lbs of chains 225x5 245x5 275x5
Lat pulls 5 sets
Pushdowns 5 sets
Notes: Still working on the foot placement to increase leg drive a lot. Getting into the 5's and 3's phase on my pressing is going to move the training maxes up a lot for me, I think. I am much better at the lower volume stuff on the presses. Looking forward to the next 6 weeks.

Good god, that's what I was deadlifting today. Well, 5x8, but still, my brain can't wrap around how all of you guys can press the same weight with your arms that I have to use my whole body to move.

Bench Warmups 390x3 PR i think 410x2 PR 365x5 to a 2 board 315x8 paused
Random bro things
Notes: On a little PR train again. Plan on riding it for awhile. Going to avoid singles until the pause is better and its time to set an opener. Changing my foot placement has really helped my leg drive. Still work to be done, but when Tom threw out the numbers he thinks I could get to with these changes I got really excited. I plan on hitting a very respectable number relatively soon.

Leg extension
Hamstring curls

Notes: Doing my juggernaut squats on Sundays is going to be different. Especially if I go out on Saturday night.

| SO MUCH CONSISTENCY WITH LOGGING MY TRAINING
1/22
deadlift 4x5 @ 425
1/23
Bench 395x3 PR 415x1 missed second
board work
1/25
Deadlift 465x7 (only needed 5)
1/26
Bench 360x6 (missed 7th, only needed 5.)
Floor press (at shit hole field house) sets of 5 up to 375 397x3
DB fly 4x6 @ 80's
Skull crushers 4 sets of kilos that aren't American, so I don't know.
NOTES: Bench is apparently taking a bit of a hit from the improvement of the other lifts. Bench is still doing okay, but not making the strides I want to see. Things have reached a point of fairly high intensity on both days for me, so I'm going to TRY to back off a bit on Fridays and start some volume for my pause. The pause needs more attention than I gave it before the UPA meet. Deadlift, however, is doing quite well. The calculated max of the 465x7 was 573.. LOL. Current PR is 535. training max has moved to 565, so we'll see how it goes in the last phase of juggernaut.
