Good to see you have started on an official program. Stick with it and eat until you die.

Nice to see a new member on here. Good start with the 5x5 program. Be consistent and stick with it and as Chris said eat until your stuffed and then eat some more. Gotta eat big to get big (and strong)!

Hey man, it was goos to finally see you in person. Like i said earlier, it is always nice to put a name to a face. Nice progress with the 5x5 so far. I am pretty sure most of us started there and went quite a ways with it.

Squat - 80X5 100X5 120X5 140X5 160X5

Notes: Sauce was weak on the bench today. Probably need to adjust my technique and revisit some instruction videos. Squats were ok and rows were fine.

That seems to be the theme for the team during this training block. Find a technique/set up that feels good and strong and hammer it home

Day 7:
Bench - 65X5 85X5 105X5 125X5 145X3
Squat - 150X5 145X5 150X3X5
Barbell Rows - 115X5X5
Notes: After reviewing my technique I had a much better day than Friday. Although I didn't get to finish my last set on the bench it is still a PR for me. Squats were a little rocky at first but after adjusting to a little bit wider stance things were much better. I will continue to review videos and work more on improving my form.

Will you be around over the next month, Josh? I'll let you know what the schedule for Janis and myself is. A lot of the students will be leaving for break, but we'll be here (most of the time, anyway).

Also, feel free to say hi the next time you're around. I tend to try and give people their space when they're training, as I don't want to be a bother, so I don't mean to be reserved or standoffish.

I will definitely be around. Sounds good, I'm looking forward to not having to wait around for a rack.

No worries, I am the same way. I figure most people are pretty focused so if I do talk I try to find a stopping point.

Day 8:
Bench - 135X3 135X3X5 135X4
Squat - 85X5 105X5 125X5 145X5 165X5
Rows - 135X5X5
Deadlift - 225X1 (PR) Just to see if I could
Notes: Taking a couple days off for the holidays didn't help much but not a terrible day. Bench was a little slow again but I feel technique is improving. I also started recording myself on squats and realized I was over compensating from not dropping down enough to dropping too much. Always room for adjusting but squats feel much better. After I did rows I realized I hadn't done any deadlifts this week and tried 225 to see if I could and it was successful. Up a couple pounds in body weight and ready for a better week for week 5.

Running the 5X5 program again officially since the last run ended. After being sick last month and having a shoulder injury from work it made my workouts inconsistent and honestly not worth logging. So here this a new start to the program which I will be able to run much better this time around.

I know I've had my set backs, but it's certainly good to see you getting right back into it man! It also looks like you've had solid progress with sticking to your programming. I'm glad you've found this place and the team. You'll find (if you haven't already) that you've come to the right place to get some solid training advice from a lot of experienced lifters. It's certainly the best thing I ever did for my training. Stick with it and you'll continue to reap many benefits.

Squat - 140X5X5
Dead lift - 185X5X5
BB Military Press - 65X1X5 75X3X5
Pull-Ups - Body weight + 10lbs. X5X5
Really good day in the gym today. Shoulder is still a bit sore so I wasn't able to do much with military press but it is getting better everyday. I dropped my dead lift weight down a bit to focus more on form (bringing bar closer to shins and getting more hip drive in to the bar) with a few critiques on squats and dead lifts things are looking and feeling better.
Also, accurate:

(From Friday)
Squat - 135X5 145X5 155X5 165X2 165X5
Bench - 125X5 125X2 120X3
Row - 105X5X5
Kind of a day of struggle which I will blame on some bad technique (not driving my traps in to the) bench) and the ridiculous amount of Los Portales I ate before going in, ha!. I went in today to fix some bench things and was able to get 135 up again which felt good.
