1/2/14

Happy New Year everybody!

Squat:
Warmups
275 1x1 (Beltless)
275 1x3(Belted)

Bench:
Warmups
170 1x3

Deadlift:
Warmups
325 2x2
325 2x1

Notes:
Something something changing stimulus. Texas Method called for alternating between a heavy set of five to triples and doubles as well. So tried out a heavy triple today, wasn't too bad. Attempted 325 1x5 on deadlift, missed the third. So I instead just did two doubles and two singles to try to make up for it. Will probably repeat the weight for deadlift next week, depending on how I feel.

1/5/15

Had to miss this Monday due to work and a big snowstorm.

1/7/15

Squat:
Warmups
185 2x5

OHP:
Warmups
(was going for 105 3x5)
105 1x4
105 1x2
105 1x2

Rows:
125 3x5

_____________________________________________________________________

1/10/15

Squat:
Warmups
280 3x2

Bench:
Warmups
175 3x1
170 2x1

Deadlift:
325 1x5

Notes:
This Friday I certainly overshot my bench, was trying to get some doubles done at 175 and couldn't get one set up. Deadlift felt okay, but I really need to drop my hips some more. Squats are fun.

1/16/15

Squat:
Warmups
245x1
275x1
290x1
305x1 (PR)
315x1 (PR)

Bench:
Warmups
165x1
175x1
185x1 <---- Missed

Deadlift:
Warmups
330x1
355x1
375x1 (PR)
385x1 (PR)
405x1 <---- Missed, lost it right above knees

Notes:
Very happy with how today went, hit some PRs and finally got my three plate squat. 365 is my next goal. Deadlift is fun. Very surprised with how well today went considering I went to the gym directly after working a 9-hour shift and also eating next to nothing all day.

1/19/15

Squat:
Warmups
240 5x5

Bench
Warmups
155 1x4
155 4x3

Notes:
Squats felt very shaky at the start today, I was leaning a bit far forward and putting the weight too far towards my toes. Focused on breathing against the belt and the very last set felt great. Good speed and good form on the last set after I focused on breathing right. Bench felt shitty, but I attribute that to not benching much these last few weeks.

Yeah, well you're gonna have to ahead and stop doing that.

Why are you using different rep amounts in your programming? For me, TM just stays at 5x5 and 1x5 for the most part.

2/9/15

Squat:
Warmups
254 5x5

Bench:
Warmups
160 5x5

Block Pull (One Plate):
Warmups
331 1x2 (Beltless)
331 1x2 (Belted)
331 1x2 (Beltless)

Notes:
Haven't posted in a while, have been super busy. Been training, just not logging. Progressing very well, eating more, gaining weight. Going to be running Smolov Jr in a few weeks. Squats felt very good today, managed to stay very upright in the hole, and speed was decent. Bench also was surprisingly good today after some coaching from Dalton. Decided to throw in a DL variation because I had some free time, and it wasn't too bad. Definitely seems more stressful on the lower back.

2/13/15

Squats:
Warmups
275x1 Beltless
315 3x2

Bench:
Warmups
185 5x1

Deadlift
Warmups
355 1x1
355 3x2

Notes:
USED MY SBDs ON SQUAT. They're very nice. Very happy with how squats looked and felt today, have no idea how much of that to attribute to the new sleeves. Bench also went okay today, 185 is still my current tested 1RM. Deadlift also felt very good today, did them with Lorenzo at the rec.

2/16/15

Squats:
Warmups
265 5x5

Bench:
Warmups
165 5x5

Block Pulls (Off One Bumper)
Warmups
342 2x2
342 1x3

Notes: Squats were a bit too heavy today, was collapsing pretty hard, couldn't stay upright on my last two sets. Will try this again next week. Didn't use the new knee sleeves today, not sure if I'm gonna use them sparingly or not. Bench felt hard but manageable, feeling stronger with leg drive now. Block pulls were also pretty hard today, core was obviously already fatigued so I didn't try to go beltless today.

2/20/15

Squats:
Warmups
315 2x1
325 1x1
335 2x1
315 1x2

Bench:
Warmups
NOT SHIT

Deadlift
Warmups
335x1
355x1
385x1
405x1

Planks

Notes:
Hit a PR today on squat at 335. Did not look as good as I wanted it to. Definitely lacking core strength, and just felt very weak and unable to stay upright on the ascent on squats today. That's why I added some core work in, and I definitely intend on adding some sort of beltless paused squat in my training after the SPF meet in march to try to improve this weak point. Bench wasn't there today, very disappointed in how it felt today. Deadlift also hit a PR at 405, finally cracking four plates. It was hard, for sure looked like a near-max attempt.
