It is better. But just not better enough, and I've been really lazy lately and not lifting much. Also, it doesn't hurt that much while squatting anymore, and as long as I can squat 315 or so comfortably, then I'm gold, as I usually put knee wraps on for anything much heavier than that and having the help out of the hole keeps it feeling much better. I don't get that luxury while pulling.
EDIT: On a positive note, I did get $50 today.
This is actually pretty encouraging. So is the part about the glute. Yay! Seriously...anything is better than nohting.

Ah, well. At least you got your 500-lb. squat. And your 300-lb. bench.

I honestly might try for 575 again later this week when I come to Iowa City. Having round plates will help me a lot.

Good news: I will be able to lift while here.
Bad news: PT is supposedly brutal here. As in 5+ miles twice a week.
Good news: I can eat whatever the fuck I want.

I'll be able to have my phone and computer with me every day as well.

It will only get worse. Or better, depending on your point of view. Let's just say that Janis' throne at 105/114 is not guaranteed.

That feel when the gym a block away from the barracks is open until 2200 every weekday. I think I'll go with a 2x/week schedule until I get back used to handling weights. I hope to get back to a 5-6x/week schedule by the end of AIT, so I'll add a day every other week or so. Supposedly the PT is brutal here so we'll see how I hold up; my joints have been feeling shitty for a few weeks.

So I think I have my next training cycle figured out. I'll be doing 5/3/1 with the full body template on a 3x/week schedule. This involves squatting three times a week, and always doing a press and a pull each day. Lifting completely raw will keep the strain on my body low as the overall load will be a lot less. I think the full body template will also help give me that "overall awesome strongy-ness" that I need to work on to build my base back up. I will probably run this for the entire ten weeks I'm here, and then get back into something with more frequency as I get back home and start lifting with gear again.
The only changes I plan on making are adding in more upperback work and small muscld group/prehab type stuff.

I'm going for a world record for the most amount of knee wraps at one time.

I've always wondered, if I were to chop off a leg to make 132, would I get to wear both knee wraps on the other one?

So I need to get back to work on my post count, so I'll start logging my PT.
4/3- Preparation drill Hip stability drill 60/120's Recovery drill
Notes: 60/120's are a sixty second sprint followed by 120 seconds of walking. We did these for about an hour. It was about 5 or 6 miles total. I may be able to lift today.

PT yesterday: fuck ton of shit. Lots of wierd jumps and shit. Glutes and quads rather sore. Running sucked today due to DOMS.
Today: shuttle sprints, two mile company run. Slow as George's metabolism.
We don't do fucking anything on weekends and have later final formation so I will actuallu have time to lift.

So I'm going to be volunteering for airborne school. If I get a slot, then I'll wait here until a spoy opens up, which could be a week or a few months. The school itself is three weeks long. I may have to wait until I get to my unit to go, though, which means I would come home directly after AIT.
