Yeah I will make sure I take my time in setting up and don't just unpack and drop down next time. I know my strength is down a tad from losing a little weight recently. 260 wasn't hard but it was about the point where it started feeling heavy. I always hit a stick spot once I get out of the hole on the front squat. That's where you see it slow down a bit.

Honestly, the slow down wasn't that bad--it's a heavy (well, relatively, we ain't Derek Kendall here) front squat, and you should slow down. I think you can just keep working and you'll be fine--just always be cognizant of your technique, is all. You've been doing some good things recently in your training.

2/2/2014
shoulder prehab
press bx10 65x5 85x5 105x3 120x5 140x3 155x3
band pull aparts a bunch x20
DB OH press x12, x8, x6 x20, x12, x8 (20 deep breaths between these three)
Kroc Rows w/ straps 100sx20
superset band pushdowns 3x40 band curls 3x40
Notes: Pretty poor day. I wasn't feeling the best and definitely was not hitting on all cylinders. Everything was slow and just not working very well together while pressing today, I definitely felt off. I pretty much just finished up my assistance work and got out of there after that. Thinking about what to do with my training and I think I will try squatting and maybe some light pulling this week. If it goes well I will start a new cycle next week with all lifts. I will run the same numbers as I did this cycle for BP, OHP, and FS as I didn't feel awesome about this last one. I'm at a point where I'm not trying to prep for a meet and I'm trying to drop some Bodyfat, so there is really no reason to push the numbers right now. Hopefully all goes well this week and I can be back full speed by next week.

2/3
agile 8
deadlift 135x10 stiff leg 225x5 275x3 325x2
front squat 135x5 175x3 190x5 215x3 240x3
hypers w/ band 3x15
lying leg raise 4x12
prowler ladder
Notes: Gave deadlifting a shot today and it went well. I basically wanted to just work up to something around 315-325 to see how it felt and there was no pain. I could tell that I haven't deadlifted for awhile though. Low back didn't hurt it just felt weak, and mechanically was a little off. I will probably start my training maxes for squat and deadlift low and adjust as needed. Front squats went okay, I used straps instead of just holding the bear in the rack position on the 240 set. I'm still getting pulled forward, if I have time to put up the video you can see it pretty clearly. Prowler gave me a whoopin tonight.

From yesterday:
2/4
shoulder prehab
bench press bx10 95x5 135x5 165x3 190x5 215x3 240x5 190x12, 6, 5 w/ 20 deep breaths between sets
band pull aparts lotsx20
dips +45x5 +70x5 +90x6
pullups (dead hang) x10, 7, 6
tris 3x12 bis 3x15
Notes: Okay bench session yesterday. Not good by any means but I can settle for okay strength levels right now. I could get a lot more quality reps in if I could learn to keep my arch and not flatten out so much, so that still needs work. Was fun to push the dips a bit, might stick with this trend or work on rotating heavy dips in every couple weeks.

I have that exact same problem on bench. Best solution seems to be to just do singles all the time.

It's no wonder my 1RM usually outpaces my rep work on bench.
2/6
agile 8
squat bx10 135x5 185x5 225x3 275x2
lunges w/ plate overhead 3x10
GHRs w/ mini band 3x10
lying leg raise 4x10
row machine w/ intervals
Notes: Today was basically about feeling around squatting, and there was no pain which is awesome. So it looks like next week I will be back to full speed. I'm going to start my squat and deadlift training maxes pretty low and rerun the last cycle for bench and OHP. Still trying to lower the body fat, so as I have mentioned before I'm not really pushing the strength levels as of right now. I'm pretty excited to be doing all lifts again.

That is great news man. Im glad to hear your back is feeling better. Ease into the full speed next week; take your time on warm ups and hit them smooth and fast. Dont be discouraged if pain comes back though because you have already made it this far

shoulder prehab
press (in kilos) bx10 30x5 35x5 40x3 45x5 55x5 63x9 45x15, 6, 4 (20 deep breaths between)
band pull aparts a bunch
DB shoulder press 45sx8x3
kroc rows 80x20 each arm
bis and tris 3x
Notes: Pretty decent press session. Feels like the strength is starting to come back.

2/11
agile 8
deadlift 135x10 stiff leg 225x10 275x3 295x5 345x5 385x6
front squat 170x5 195x5 220x5
hypers w/ bands 3x10
abs 3x10
Notes: First real deadlift session in a long while. Not really any pain but I fatigued very quickly. I'm banking on that going away as I start deadlifting and back squatting more. I did tweak my right side a bit on the 345 set, but I rolled around on a tennis ball a bit before the 385 set and it didn't bother me. I was nervous when deadlifting, very cautious. Really focused on not starting with my hips so high and keeping a bit wider stance than before.

Notes: An okay session. Really should have got more out of bench with how the first couple reps felt, but once again I flattened out pretty terribly. I will say that setting up today felt the best it has in a long time.

Dudes and dudettes, it's been awhile.
In short, training has been going pretty well. I'm prepping for the UPA Battle on the Mississippi in July. I hit a 300 paused bench a bit ago, am going to be squatting in wraps at this meet, and seem to have been staying somewhat healthy (knock on wood). I'm going to try to start logging my training on here again.
From yesterday:
bench press warm ups 245x4x3
lying bb tri ext 6x10
t-bar rows 3x10
pushdowns 3x15
one arm db press 3x15
Notes: Pretty good session. Bench has been feeling decent, I need to continue to practice keeping my touch on the chest as light as possible.

Go for broke, maybe. Would have to be something like 450-300-550. This is possible, but it would be everything going right and how often does that ever happen?

5/31
bench press warm ups 225x2x4 225x5
band pull aparts a bunch x15
fat bar narrow grip bench press 4x8
superset side raise 3x10 pull ups 3x10
bent over side raise 3x10
Notes: Did a good job of hitting staying in the groove while benching, which is why I hit a few extra reps on the last set. Really liked the fat bar narrow grip as well.
