lol, crushed floor presses today. Pressing is probably the only thing that's 100% after the meet though.

First he copies my bench press pause work idea. Now he's doing neck work like me, too.

That sounds like the start of a bad porno.
Or maybe a really good porno, if you're into that kind of thing.

Glute-Ham Raise BWx25 BWx25 BWx25
Squat Barx5 135x5 225x5 315x5 365x5 225x5 225x5
Pull-Throughs 115x20 115x20
Hip Abductors, four sets
Leg Curls BWx200
My strength doesn't feel too bad after the meet, but one set of just under 75% for a set of five and I was lightheaded, with my headache returning. That isn't a big deal in and of itself, but I just want to take this process slow and return when I'm ready, so I stuck with just one set. I'll squat again on Thursday, probably with some reverse bands.
Today, I bench, and I'm starting the same block as last cycle, except with ten pounds added on (and with the last two super-heavy weeks cut off). My pressing feels good enough to start right after the meet, though if I struggle badly today, I will definitely re-evaluate that (after Monday, I don't expect this to be the case)

Let me explain, very quickly, how I'll be running my bench training. I'll be floor pressing on Monday and doing paused bench pressing on Wednesday and Saturday. Each session has four work sets, with the last always being an AMRAP. Here is my new, modified six-week training block:
The floor pressing will be stupidly easy to start, but I'll ramp it up after this cycle. Two sessions has been really easy to recover from, and I think I'll benefit even more from a third.

Dimel Deadlifts w/ snatch grip: 225x12 w/ normal grip: 225x20
Kneeling Squats Barx10 135x20 225x20 225x20
Standing Cable Ab Crunches 70x21 80x21 80x21
Kept the deadlifting weight really light through the combination of a high deficit, a three-rep set, and a monster-mini band. My max is 440-450 like this anyway, so I wasn't going to get too high here. This deficit + MM cycle should help me recover from the heavy off-the-floor pulling done at the meet.

My laptop has a built-in microphone, so I just record it directly. I run PowerDirector 7.0 for my editing; it's easy to use and the software came with this laptop.

Floor presses feel good; my numbers for this cycle are super conservative, but I'll work up to bigger things eventually.

Maybe, belph, but I feel it's different, since a knee wraps directly add speed, while a belt just makes it easier for you to produce it. And I'd still gain a lot from squatting unwrapped and developing strength out of the bottom; I'm not sure what I'd gain at this moment from doing heavy beltless work.
Speaking of squats...
Squats: Barx5 135x5 225x3 315x3 375x5 405x5 425x4 (hit safety pin, screwed myself up, had to rack it)
Low Box Squats 225x3 315x3 335x3 355x3 375x3
Seated Goodmornings 135x10 135x10 135x10
My strength is back, and the exertion headaches are virtually non-existent now. I think I could have set a rep PR (6+) with 85% had I not hit that safety pin. Oh well.

I'm breaking all my rep PRs from last training block by a couple of reps, and there was a time not too long ago when I couldn't hit 235x9 touch and go. It's not like I'm making an enormous jump with my bench press, but my goal for April is to reach 310; putting ten pounds on my bench press, for me, in six months' time would be a big achievement. 310 at 148 isn't exactly bench-specialist stuff, but it ain't bad.

I just checked the rankings, and top ten for bench press means benching at least 315 in competition. brb benching until this happens.
