| Why are you trying to cut when you have had some injury issues lately? Trying to get healthy while cutting is really difficult. It is generally a bad idea.

Source: experience My cuts aren't dramatic, usually five lbs and can be achieved by eating like a semi-normal person (that's difficult for me haha). Plus, I mean I'm doing it slowly and it would probably help to have less weight on my joints. It turned out to be an inflamed fat pad so nothing really to do with anything but irritation and overuse. But I don't know. I'm signed up already, probably won't compete for awhile after this to get all my ducks in a row.

Eating at a deficit over a period of time is different than cutting weight for a meet. If you're doing it slowly enough you should be okay but I would be very careful.

| I've been sucking bad at updating my training log this break. My split was weird too because I had to center it around the dumb hours of my local gym.
11/21/15 Bench 110x1 95 5x2 Pause (at chest and below sticking point) 80 3x3 WG 65 2x3 (Couldn't finish the set because I was alone and my gym's benches are dumb and non-adjustable and my arms are too short to unrack it consistently for WG so that's cool)
Lat pulldowns 90 3x6
11/23/15 Deadlifts
225x0 (Don't know what was up or why I couldn't pull this. It didn't feel or look like poor form, I just didn't feel strong enough for whatever reason. Tried cheater and conventional. Backed off after.) 135 3x3 (cheater)
Rows 65 3x6 Lat pulldowns 90 3x6
11/24/15 Bench 85 5x5 Pause 80 3x3 (at chest and below sticking point) WG 75 3x3
11/25/15 Squats!!
135 5x2 (Really happy that there was no pain with these. Three weeks ago 60kg hurt so this was an improvement. I did feel stiff, but that was the first time in almost a month that I've had my knee bent that way. I feel really good about it and think that I should be able to squat decent numbers in Jan. I didn't do any more squats today just in case.)
Calf raises 95 3x6 Quad exts. 50 3x5 (took it easy on these) Wall-sits 45secx2
11/27/15 Bench 80 5x5 Pause 75 3x3 Wide Grip 70 3x3
OHP 55 2x5 60 1x5 Upright Rows 55 3x5 Lat Pulldowns 80 3x6 Tricep ext. with DB 30 3x6 Tricep ext. with cables 30 5x10
Overall, this week has been meh. I was using mediocre equipment and performing mediocrely. This next week I'm going to be training extremely light, like 50% and lower, and not squatting or deadlifting until the Magni Mock Meet and then I'll carefully start getting ready for the meet according to how dec 5th goes. Openers for that were planned at 135/110/240, but my deadlifts have been meh so I'll probably bump it down to 225 and depending on how that feels make my jump. Don't even know if I'm pulling cheater or conventional yet. For Jan I'm going to have to prep at my local gym on non-competition equipment when I'm home for Christmas, which kind of sucks ass, but I wasn't smart when I decided January was a good time for a meet so I basically asked for it.

| 12/7/15 Squats 70kg(66%) 3x5 80kgx0 Paused Squats 50kg 5x3 5 sec Front Squats 50kgx1 40kg 5x5
My quad strength disappeared I guess. Lots to do. Also going to play with my old squat grip, because. And if I find my loss of quad strength has a lot to do with why I can't even pull remotely mediocre cheater numbers and I manage to regain that strength I will resume the pull of cheaters. It'd be cool to hit at least 265 in January for deadlifts, but we'll see.

Used my old squat grip a little today, still don't know how I feel about things. Feeling fine with this new one. Don't know what my squats or deadlifts will be like in Jan. Wut r finals even. Will I train next week? My life is like one big "I don't know" right now.

Yesterday went well for being half-zombie from the night before. Quads feel like they're regaining strength so eager to see where I'm at during break.
