wtf, I somehow edited Daniel's post because I'm a dipshit and I shouldn't have mod status. Not sure if that comment follows or not. Bleeehhhhhh

But yeah I understood what you said. I'm excited too! Still learning how to do it all!
jesus. I screwed that up badly on two counts. I taught here for three years, and if it's any consolation, I screwed up students' names badly for entire semesters sometimes. I just SUCK with proper noun memorization. Many apologies.

comments: did this heavy squat session beltless because I got so fat that I managed to wear my belt on the same hole as my former not-fat self and basically compressed my rib cage during a volume squat session into a painful ring of bone bruising/who knows what else over on my left side. So I had to lay off with the belt for a week, skipped last week's deadlift session, and basically recovered. More on that a ways down...

Comments: I'm back, yo. First time with a belt on my fat self in a few weeks. Wore it on a hole one looser than I did when I was 105-sized and voila, it didn't hurt me this session. That said, I'm heavier, but where the F IS it? I mean, I'm no stage-ready specimen, but I don't think I really look that different. So seriously, I need to know where the pounds are. Theory: they all want to my biceps. Not what I wanted. Narcissistic picture is narcissistic:
And here is the deadlift vid from yesterday, because I'm actually doing videos again:
Oh man, people are going to start lifting in their flat bills now. THANKS GUYS
No no, see, I just had shitty looking hair that day. Also, it's kind of not a bad idea to wear them if you lift at this time in this gym and are further down near the back of the platform row. Because the sun is coming in like a mother at 5:30-6. I found it served me well yesterday.
I mean, I'm aware it looks douchey but I feel like I'm the resident bitch chick in the CRWC so I can wear whatever douche attire I want because it's just too late for me. Nothing can scrub the "bitchface" from my appearance in there, so might as well embrace the dark side.
Also, you might be the second-best deadlifter on the team. I have a hard time picking between you (303 at 105) and Poage (551 at 165). If you can out-pull Inda and Sioux-y (325) in November, maybe...

Definitely not Anderson. His is like 2xBW. What about Kevin though?

Siff has Babyeater in last (29.9 to 29.5 to 29.0) but it doesn't account for gender. NASA and Glossbrenner were incomplete, so I discarded them. Basically, you three are deadlocked in a tie for second if you include Siff.
How are you going to take into account the usapl bar I use to pull 575?
I wasn't really planning on it, but it certainly does make a difference. Have you pulled on a squat bar before?

My 551 was also at a bw of 161 I think because I didn't cut or recomp.
To be fair, she was 102, and I don't know what Kevin Alvy was weighing.
Only at every NASA meet ever for warm ups. Fieldhouse has squat bars so I may do my pulling over there.
I pulled with the squat bar at the old rec building for a while when we were meeting there. It's good experience, since it does change the start of the pull. My deadlift didn't really drop off from using it, so I think the difference, at least for me, was pretty minimal.
I pulled with a super stiff bar at that ADFPF meet, I still hit a PR but the thing jarred my whole body
Yeah, I felt the same way pulling with one--I have sort of a violent break off the floor though.

I return to the CWRC soon enough. That place is going to crumble with the combined power of our hate.

got multiple crazy auras after this work. For those of you who don't know, "aura" is the term for the visual disturbances that often precede a migraine. If you ever see really crazy revolving lights/geometric shapes in front of your vision and THEN feel like shit after that (or sometimes, you don't feel like shit--some people get these without pain and to those people I say WHY YOU? WHY NOT ME?) you are having a migraine. I had a migraine the day BEFORE this squat session which is why I went into it feeling like I had a hangover while being dragged behind a train. Sometimes, when I have a migraine, it seems like it's easy to trigger more by lifting. That's kind of what happened after this session but the pain was little-to-none. It's awesome when I get the aura crap but only get marginal amounts of migraine sickness attached.
TL;DR: the moral of the story is that migraines suck and they can be triggered by lifting or at least perpetuated by it. Fuck that, I'm doing it anyway.

THis was an easy set of work sets so I paused the shit out of the reps and kept my rest time between them to a minimum.
