| I run more here than Poage ever did in cross country.
Anyway, I'm currently walking around at about 195, after eating and being hydrated and all that, so I'm guessing I'm around 190 fasted. If I stay around there, I'll just weigh in at whatever I weigh and not worry about specific weight classes. If I'm closer to 185 fasted, which is very possible, then I will cut the small amount of weight down to 181.
I hope to find an apartment in Iowa City and move in by early July. All of you will be invited for a gainz+alcohols fest one weekend once I'm settled in.

| Post your deadlift videos, fag.
Also, most leases won't start until late July or early August unless you sublease from somebody.

| I emailed one place about openings, and they said that the only opening for a one bedroom is available for sublease on June 5th. I don't graduate here until the 13th, supposedly. | |

| 5/14-
Squat- 8x1@315, 1x10@225 Press- 135x5, 155x3 Random lat machines- lots Face pulls- lots Shoulder external rotation work- some
Notes: Speed felt good. I have to squat fairly high bar due to not having chalk and the shitty bar sliding down my back, but my groove feels right. I will attempt to find something close to a 1rm when my shirt gets here. I won't completely max out, but I will go as close as possible.

| Shirt is here, I've had plenty of rest, breakfast was great, and I'm about to pound a Monster and set a beltless wrapless squat PR. I may go ahead and do a bit of bench and deadlift testing just to see what weights I can use at certain percentages. | |

| Are you still planning on doing that strongman competition? If so, how are you preparing for it? Just curious as strongman definitely interests me. | |

| Well it depends on if I'm able to do it or not- my schedule is not going to be very clear for a while. If I can, I plan on lifting like normal, but increasing conditioning, keeping the intensity low, and replacing assistance work with occassional event training. | |

| You should let me know if you end up signing up for it. I'd consider getting in on it as well. | |

| I'm now considering not lifting at Grand Natty's. I just don't have enough time to build my base back up and competing would be negative for my long-term progress. I'll train for a good lengthy training cycle and wreck shit at 181 come the next meet. | |

Very understandable, since you'd probably be better off long-term just training that week. I think it's a good choice.

| I'll just say that all my measurements have stayed the same. The only numbers that have changed are my weight.
I'll be doing some sled dragging today. Tomorrow I will start lifting (not-so) heavy objecta again

| I start lifting again Monday. I'll take a couple weeks to dink around and figure out where I'm at, then I start a program based around a 14-week peaking cycle. This program will feature three squat days, three bench days, two press days, and two deadlift days.
I'll emphasize my usual variations--pause squat, deficit deadlift, block pulls, slingshot, all sorts of different stances/grips/etc--along with adding in more incline work and RDL's/SLDL's, and zero sumo pulling.
EDIT: And rowing. Lots and lots of rowing. I plan on adding snatch grip deadlift work as a variation, as well.
With a bit of luck, I'll be taking a look at an apartment in Iowa City Tuesday, and if I take it, I'll move in August 3rd.

| 6/24-
Bench- 135x5 185x3 205x3 225x3 250x1
Fat gripz bench- 3x5@185
DB rows- 3x10
Band pull aparts- 3x15
Notes: Just worked up to 250 to feel it out after not benching in six months. Moved pretty slow, but the base is still mostly there. These next two weeks will be filled with workouts just like this one, just trying to feel everything out and seeing what my training maxes should be. I'll have a nice long 14 week cycle to train for the next meet in October. I think that getting close to 1400 at 181 is possible- 1350 might be more realistic, though.
My training cycle will include three squat days, three bench days, two press days, and two deadlift days. I'm going to emphasize my typical variations--deficit pulls, all sorts of different grips/stances/bar placements, slingshot bench, etc--along with a couple things I think would be very beneficial to me: incline pressing and snatch grip pulls.
Assistance work will be a fuck ton of rowing, whatever pressing I feel like doing, and a ton of small muscle group work, as usual. Nothing new here.
Each main lift will have a "main" day dedicated to workouts based off of a simple peaking cycle. The other days for each lift will be flat reps and sets- likely 6x2 or whereabouts. For squat and bench, the third day will be the exact same as the second, except I plan on making conditioning the main goal for these days- the goal will be short rest periods, minimal gear, and moving the weight as fast as possible. These extra days are where the main lift variations will come into play.
