Hey man I met to ask, are you still doing CBL, and if so, how's it going?

He's looking very aesthetic lately. You should see his deadlift shorts. I think he got them out of Anderson's closet.

I don't know about aesthetic but I've dropped over 15 lbs since I started without a loss in strength, so I have to say I'm happy. I'm still running it but not as strictly as I was before.

Now onto the horror movie that was squatting today.

squat (ugly ugly ugly)
315x5x5
275x5 (beltless)

My belt was tearing me apart, and I'm finally realizing that I need to get away from using it so much. I think I get to much out of my belt and I want to stop being so dependent on it, so I'm going to squat beltless for awhile for the majority of my sets. The plan as of now is to go beltelss for my 6x2 day, and for half of my sets on the heavier day. I will drop my training max from 395 to 365 for those sets.

Any other ideas are welcome.

3/8

bench press
230x2x6

narrow grip
185x8, 7

behind head db extension
65x12, 3

hypers
bwx12x3

face pulls
3x15

pulldown abs
3x12

reverse hypers
+25x8x3

leg raise
3x10

Notes: Ribs still felt very sore today. Morning workouts are not much fun. Lots of assistance work because I did none yesterday. Assistance work is going to be done on both squat days now, targeting core and posterior chain a lot more. No more being a sissy.

He would have to hack a leg off to make 181.

Yes I would. I love powerlifting, but not THAT much. Woke up and trained in the morning yesterday and was 200.6 after. I'd be plenty happy to sit around here. Were 6 weeks out today so that shouldn't be to hard.

No, he'd cease to be a man if he dropped below 200lbs.

3/10

bench press
230x6x5
230x5 (failed 6th)

squat (beltless)
290x2x6

GHR
+45x5x3

hypers
3x12

ab rollouts
3x8

Notes: I was just running out of gas at the end of benching. I didn't eat much pre training which may have something to do with it, who knows. Squat felt good without a belt.

3/13

press
140x6x5
140x5

shrugs (short rest)
405x5, 8. 10, 8, 5, 20

side raise
3x12

facepulls
2x25

Notes: Maybe could have squeezed out that 6th rep on the last set but I decided to rack it and not try to hurt myself.

I don't want to have a respectable bench and risk getting kicked out of the club :/

3/14

squat
315x6x3
290x6 (beltless)
290x1 (beltless) ouch

Notes: I hurt my back again, same as last time. This feels a little worse though. Going to see a chiropractor asap and see what is going on. This makes me nervous. Maybe I will have to do bench only or push pull in April who knows. Very disappointing, but we will see what the verdict is when I actually get looked at.

On the bright side the 315 sets went awesome and felt ten times better than the last few training sessions.

Yeah it was a few minutes after you left. I'm hoping a few visits to the chiropractor and some ice/heat/rest will solve the problem. Only time will tell I guess. Last time i didn't see the chiropractor until about two weeks afterwards, so I'm trying to get in as soon as I can this time to get some help.
