I've lied to myself for years regarding my bench press technique and my shoulder. Don't make the same mistake as my stupid self: I still believe that making your bench press technique more pec-friendly will be beneficial in the long run for you.
Otherwise, what do you think you'll be doing for rehab?
Yeah I think I'll be giving up the flaring tbh. Regardless of what is stronger, I've seen the best strength increases with an increase in frequency, and if I want to bench 3x a week I need to do some lower stress pec stuff
I'm not totally sure what my strategy is going to be for rehab. I will keep my comp bench press frequency low, keep the assistance low pec stress, and keep working on the pec externally. If my back can handle it I'll probably replace my inclines with ohp, but it's too early to make the decision
I know that taking like 3-4 weeks off and starting over is best for the long term, but I can't bring myself to do it. Predictable irrationality

On a lighter note, I thought the squats you did recently looked really good.

Join the club. I waited until my bench press was pretty much untrainable before I stopped for a few weeks. There's something about hitting your first paused PR in over two years that makes you want to go until the wheels fall off to avoid potentially losing whatever gains you've made.

Notes: Doing a transition this week then I will probably do some aggressive reaching for 1-2 weeks after. I'm happy I am beginning to enjoy these easy workouts. I tend to ruin my programming/peaking because I try to do too much during transitions

Reminds me of when I caught mono over the summer, never missed a session because of it and hit a 67-lb. meet total PR at the meet I was training for. Or when Janis pulled 300 lbs. with the flu and a partially dislocated rib.
When I get sick, I find the key is to just keep training and autoregulate as necessary. Things go to shit when I start missing training time. So, hang in there and you'll be OK soon; maybe use this time to do what you're doing and ramp up the degree of difficultly on your lifts (i.e. feet-up narrow-grip benching).

Haha I think we are finally in some agreement on here. That was the idea with the feet up, I was worried more pressure would've made me puke in the gym (but was a pretty easy pr). I'll probably use tomorrow to take another cheap pr on high bar squats. I think I am good for one top set when I am sick before things go downhill fast
For the record I don't think my condition was as bad as Janis your mono, hopefully i'll be 100% tomorrow
